Eligibility Criteria 2024:

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. For candidates graduating from the academic year 2020 onwards:
    • Hold a B.Sc. (Nursing) degree and have successfully completed a six-month integrated curriculum of Certificate in Community Health (CCH) from an institute or university recognized by the Indian Nursing Council/ State Nursing Council.
    • Hold a Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) degree and have successfully completed a six-month integrated curriculum of Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH) from an institute or university recognized by the Indian Nursing Council/ State Nursing Council.

Note: For clarification, the academic year refers to the integration of middle-level health providers (MLHP), i.e., students who underwent 4th year B.Sc. Nursing and 2nd year Post B.Sc. Nursing in the year 2019-2020 or onwards and passed the course successfully.

  1. For candidates who have completed Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH) through IGNOU/ other State Public Health/ Medical Universities as per curriculum specified by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India:
    • Candidates with a B.Sc. (Nursing)/ Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing)/ General Nurse and Midwifery (GNM) qualification are eligible.

SHS Bihar CHO Salary/ Pay Scale:

The Community Health Officer (CHO) will receive a monthly remuneration (honorarium) of Rs. 40,000/-. Out of this, Rs. 32,000/- per month will be provided as fixed remuneration, while the remaining Rs. 8,000/- per month will be allocated as Performance Linked Payment. This Performance Linked Payment will be calculated based on various predetermined health indices.
